NGX Adds WhatsApp Route For Public-Offer Subscriptions

Investors can start with “Invest” at NGX Invest’s official WhatsApp number, but a selected stockbroker still processes the application.

Nigerian Exchange Group launched the channel on September 23. Investors can send “Invest” to +234 812 731 9521, follow prompts to view eligible offers and select a stockbroker to process a subscription. NGX says users do not need to download a separate application to start.

The change adds a familiar way to discover public offers. It does not remove the broker from the transaction, guarantee an allocation or replace the need to review an offer’s terms before committing money. For example, investors considering the Dangote refinery IPO still need to understand the prospectus and complete the subscription process through the selected broker.

NGX says its broader Invest platform has facilitated more than 23 primary market transactions and supported over ₦3 trillion in capital raising since its 2024 launch. Those platform wide figures do not yet show how many investors the new WhatsApp route will reach or how many will complete an application.

Security depends on using the official number and keeping credentials private. NGX advises investors not to share passwords, PINs or one time codes with third parties.

What KOKO is watching next: whether NGX reports completed subscriptions through the new channel, how investors move from enquiry to broker processed applications, and whether access broadens beyond users already active in the market.
