Daniel Dubois Retains WBO Heavyweight Title in Early Rematch Victory

Nigerian-born heavyweight Daniel Dubois secured his World Boxing Organisation (WBO) title retention by defeating Fabio Wardley in the second round of their rematch at London’s O2 Arena. Dubois floored Wardley early in the first round with a powerful right hook, sending him down on one knee and ending the bout before the second round began.
The rematch followed a highly anticipated clash in May where Dubois overcame two knockdowns to win an 11-round bout. Wardley had exercised his rematch clause to force a second fight after the initial contest, but Dubois delivered a decisive performance, retaining his title with a cleaner victory than his first encounter.
