Australian Pension Fund Expands Thailand Investment Focus

Australian Retirement Trust is increasing its long-term investment focus in Thailand, seeking opportunities across Asia as Australian pension funds grow their overseas investments. Mark Burgess, chair of the investment committee, highlighted the fund's interest in Thailand and other Asian markets.

The fund already holds exposure to Thailand through listed equities and fixed-income products, and is examining further investments in infrastructure and other assets. Burgess emphasized the importance of stable policies and a predictable environment for attracting long-term capital amid global economic uncertainty.

Meanwhile, France’s Minister Delegate for Francophonie, Éléonore Caroit, aims to strengthen ties with Thailand through green energy initiatives. Australian investors are also showing interest in renewable energy projects in Thailand, according to Hiran Wanigasekera.
