Ogun Police Investigate Wife’s Fire Death

The Ogun State Police Command has detained a 56-year-old man, Madarikan Emehinola, following the death of his wife, Igbagbo Erobe, in a house fire in Igbo Edu, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.

The incident was reported at the Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters on October 18, 2026, after the house was reportedly set ablaze, resulting in the death of the 40-year-old woman.

The police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the deceased’s body had been placed at a mortuary for an autopsy. The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, assured residents that the incident would be thoroughly investigated and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to the police.
