Indonesian Government Acknowledges Greenpeace Haze Criticism

Indonesian authorities addressed public concerns regarding their handling of the haze crisis, following criticism from Greenpeace banners displayed in Jakarta. The banners, which were removed by police, highlighted dissatisfaction with the government's approach to the forest fire issue.
President Prabowo Subianto's office expressed alignment with the protesters' concerns about the climate crisis and rising living costs, as reported on October 20. This response came in reaction to the Greenpeace banners that sparked widespread attention.
The Government Communication Agency (Bakom) head, Syahganda Nainggolan, stated that the government welcomed Greenpeace Indonesia's initiative, which included banners criticizing the haze response and the forest fire crisis affecting Southeast Asia.
