GRA Clears Say Cheers of Tax Non-Compliance

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has cleared Say Cheers of allegations of tax non-compliance following an investigation into the company’s transactions. The GRA attributed the earlier concerns to miscommunication between the authority and the taxpayer.
According to the GRA, its electronic tax monitoring system confirmed the company’s compliance. The authority emphasized the importance of transparency in public communication to protect businesses from reputational harm due to inaccurate information.
Mr Kwesi Eghan, Deputy Commissioner of Operations at the GRA, stated that the clarification was necessary to prevent further damage to Say Cheers’ reputation. He mentioned that the GRA revisited the company’s premises after it invited the authority to demonstrate compliance with tax requirements.
