Indonesia’s Gas Cuts May Not Impact Singapore’s Prices

Minister Tan See Leng stated that Singapore's electricity prices are unlikely to be significantly affected by Indonesia's recent gas export cuts. The reduction in supply accounts for less than 2% of Singapore's total needs.
The minister emphasized that Singapore should focus on global gas price fluctuations rather than the local supply reduction. He explained that gas unit prices are typically tied to key international market indexes.
Indonesia announced a cut of 31 billion British thermal units per day in natural gas exports to Singapore starting from October 24. Tan See Leng mentioned that Gas Supply may take action if the contract terms are breached.
