Christopher Edeh, a former Nigerian banker, has been sentenced to 39 years in prison for defrauding multiple entities, including Lagos, Kano, NNPC, and Ojukwu University, of N3 billion. The Lagos Special Offences Court, presided over by Abike-Fadipe, convicted Edeh on nine counts of fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stated that Edeh was prosecuted after his arraignment in 2024. The commission highlighted that Edeh altered bank account details of several customers and government entities, including the Kano government’s Power Intervention Fund and NNPC Trading Limited.

The judge ruled that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to Edeh’s conviction. The fraud involved entities such as the Lagos government’s Blue Line, the Contributory Pension Account, and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
