Pakistan Seeks Saudi LPG Support Amid Winter Crisis

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Pakistan Seeks Saudi LPG Support Amid Winter Crisis

Pakistan is requesting Saudi Arabia to provide dedicated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shipments to address an energy import crisis exacerbated by rising winter demand.

The country has historically depended on LPG imports from Iran through land borders, but the closure of these crossings has intensified worries about supply shortages ahead of the winter season.

Compounding the issue, disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and security threats in the Red Sea have heightened concerns over regional energy supply stability, prompting Islamabad to seek Riyadh's assistance.

The situation has also exposed Pakistan's limited strategic petroleum storage capacity, raising questions about its ability to manage future energy challenges.
