APC and PDP Clash Over Economic Responsibility

Tinubu addressed the APC presidential campaign flag-off at Kaduna Township Stadium, stating his administration was actively working to alleviate the hardships caused by the opposition.

The PDP faction opposed Tinubu’s stance, asserting that the APC government must take accountability for the nation’s economic struggles.

Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, emphasized that the opposition, especially the PDP, should not be held responsible for the challenges Nigerians are currently facing.

The PDP requested the government to outline its strategies for making food affordable, supporting farmers, enhancing local food production, creating jobs, improving security, combating corruption, increasing electricity supply, reducing transport costs, and restoring Nigerians’ purchasing power.

The PDP statement firmly rejected any attempt to use its sixteen years in government as a justification for the current administration’s shortcomings.

The PDP also argued that while the country’s past could partially explain its current difficulties, previous administrations should not be used as a permanent excuse for the government’s failures.
