FJF Supports NSCDC Probe Amid Diaspora Protest Threat

The Freelance Journalist Federation (FJF) has expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) into the deaths of 37 miners in Niger State. The federation urged the public to allow the investigative committee to complete its work without external pressure.
The FJF's stance followed warnings from the Nigeria Diaspora Organizations and Community for Human Rights (NDOCHR) about planned protests at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja, citing delays in releasing the probe's findings. The federation criticized the proposed demonstration as unnecessary and politically motivated.
In a statement signed by FJF conveners Ibrahim Ali, Jonathan Modi, Okpara Isaac, and Christopher Abah, the federation described the investigative process as transparent and thorough. It also praised the NSCDC leadership, the Minister of Interior, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their commitment to transparency and accountability.
