Ghanaian CEO Trial Delayed Over Charge Sheet Dispute

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Ghanaian CEO Trial Delayed Over Charge Sheet Dispute

The trial of Mr Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, former CEO of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company, has been postponed as the Court of Appeal reviews an appeal against the trial High Court's decision.

Mr Abdul-Wahab seeks to have the Court of Appeal overturn the High Court's rejection of his claim that the charge sheet was flawed and unsuitable for trial.

Justice Francis Achibonga, the trial judge, stated there was enough information for the defense to proceed, with Mr Abdul-Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, facing charges of causing a GH¢78 million financial loss to the state.

Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, representing Mr Abdul-Wahab, argued that the charges should be dismissed to protect his client's right to a fair trial.
