Makinde Camp Demands Proof Of NLNG Dividend Payments

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Makinde Camp Demands Proof Of NLNG Dividend Payments

The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has demanded that President Bola Tinubu provide evidence showing whether Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) dividends meant for states have been paid. The organisation, representing Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential bid, challenged the Tinubu administration to confirm the payment status of the N250 billion in dividends.

MDPCO dismissed the Tinubu Presidency’s denial of the claim as an attempt to divert attention from the issue. The campaign organisation, operating under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) platform, urged the administration to address the allegations directly rather than engage in personal attacks against Makinde.

In a statement by its Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa, MDPCO called on Tinubu to clarify whether the NLNG dividends have been distributed to the states. The organisation insisted that the dispute over the withheld funds requires transparency and accountability from the federal government.
