Nigeria’s Economic Reforms Show Progress Amid Tinubu’s Leadership

Abubakar Bagudu, a key economic advisor, stated that Nigeria’s economic reforms are beginning to yield results despite early feasibility concerns. He made this assessment during a news conference in Bangkok, Thailand, at the 2026 World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings.
Bagudu emphasized that closer collaboration among government institutions is essential to achieve Tinubu’s 2030 economic targets. He also highlighted growing confidence in Nigeria’s governance, transparency, and economic management as factors boosting the country’s international standing.
According to Bagudu, Tinubu’s leadership demonstrates courage and commitment to national development, with the administration remaining determined to sustain progress. The economic reforms, he noted, require continued political will to ensure Nigeria’s economic recovery by 2027, as outlined by Wike’s forecast.
