Nyesom Wike Denies Supporting LP Candidate in Adamawa

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Nyesom Wike Denies Supporting LP Candidate in Adamawa

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has refuted claims that he supports Senator Ishaku Abbo, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Adamawa state. Through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike stated that he has no association with the LP or any of its candidates in Adamawa.

A social media post had previously quoted Wike as advising Adamawa state residents to make informed decisions at the ballot, suggesting Ishaku Abbo is best suited for leadership. However, Wike clarified that he never endorsed Abbo or any LP candidate, calling the report fabricated.

Wike urged the people of Adamawa to ignore the social media claim, emphasizing that he would personally disclose any support he might have for a candidate. He reiterated that his relationship with the LP or its candidates in the state is non-existent.
