Russia Expands Digital Tech Exports to Asia and Global South

Russia's digital technology strategy has shifted focus toward Asia and the Global South to boost exports and diversify markets. This approach aligns with Moscow's broader goal of enhancing technological self-reliance and forming alternative international partnerships.
The Digital Solutions Forum and the Second Global Digital Forum, held in Moscow from 8 to 10 October 2026, showcased Russia's efforts to convert domestic digital capabilities into export opportunities across AI, cybersecurity, telecommunications, software, digital government, and infrastructure.
Russia's digital industry reported aggregate turnover exceeding ₽21 trillion (approximately US$250.5 billion) in 2025, marking a nearly 20% year-on-year increase. The events also resulted in 150 agreements and memorandums of understanding alongside over 200 bilateral meetings.
