PDP Divisions Surface Over Tinubu Re-election Push

Nyesom Wike’s campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election has led to internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party. Several state chapters have distanced themselves from the Rainbow Coalition, choosing to contest under the party’s platform instead of supporting candidates from other parties.

Political blocs in Rivers, Kwara, and Benue have shown support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, highlighting a growing divide between national supporters and those who oppose backing APC candidates in legislative and governorship contests.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is at the center of the controversy, as his push for Tinubu’s re-election has sparked tensions within the PDP, with some chapters rejecting the coalition’s approach.
