South East Fuel Prices Remain High Despite Discount Claims

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | South East Fuel Prices Remain High Despite Discount Claims

Petrol prices in the South East continue to rise despite a government fuel discount initiative. The Federal Government announced a discount of N1,350 per litre, but motorists in several states are still paying between N1,400 and N1,500 per litre at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited stations.

The promised transport fares reduction, announced by President Bola Tinubu, has not provided relief to commuters. It has been 20 days since the initiative began, yet high fuel prices and transport fares persist in the region.

Nigerians in the South East are still struggling with elevated fuel costs and transport expenses. Despite the discount announcement, the actual prices at fuel stations have not reflected the promised reduction.
