WFP to Cut Aid to 500,000 in Gaza Amid Funding Shortfall

The World Food Programme (WFP) announced it will end monthly aid to 500,000 people in Gaza due to a funding shortfall, despite ongoing needs in the region. The decision comes as the UN agency faces challenges in sustaining its operations.
With the cutbacks, 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza will receive either food or cash assistance each month, though in reduced amounts. The WFP emphasized that its efforts have helped mitigate famine effects from last year, but conditions have not improved enough to allow aid reduction.
A Palestinian man was seen carrying a food ration box provided by the WFP at a distribution center in Al-Zawayda, highlighting the ongoing reliance on aid for daily sustenance.
