WHO Sends 71 Tonnes of Medical Aid to Northern Ethiopia

The World Health Organization (WHO) has dispatched over 71 metric tonnes of essential medical supplies to conflict-affected regions in Northern Ethiopia, including Tigray, Amhara, and Afar. This delivery aims to bolster emergency health operations amid escalating humanitarian needs due to ongoing hostilities.
WHO is collaborating with national and regional health authorities and humanitarian partners to sustain essential health services, enhance disease surveillance, and broaden emergency medical assistance in areas impacted by insecurity and displacement.
The medical shipments consist of emergency health kits, cholera response materials, reproductive health kits, and medications for noncommunicable diseases. WHO has also improved emergency coordination mechanisms, deployed technical teams, and expanded operational support across the three regions.
