Ethiopia’s OTC Market Targets 8 Securities

Ethiopia's over-the-counter (OTC) market is aiming to include eight securities that do not meet the main listing requirements. This initiative is intended to broaden the scope of capital market opportunities for businesses.
Yodit Kassa, the CEO of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), stated that the OTC market will support the main exchange as the nation enhances its capital market infrastructure. This development is expected to provide additional avenues for businesses to secure investment.
Currently, seven securities are being traded on the main exchange, including shares from one telecommunications company and six banks. ESX anticipates adding approximately seven more securities by October to meet its target.
