Ibadan Diesel Tanker Crash Claims Five Lives

A fatal road accident in Ibadan, Oyo State, killed five people when a fully loaded 45,000-litre diesel tanker collided with multiple commercial vehicles. Emergency responders identified two male victims, including a commercial car driver, and three female passengers among the fatalities.

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority reported the tanker experienced sudden brake failure during high-speed travel, leading to loss of control and violent swerving that crushed several Nissan Micra sedans. This trapped occupants inside the wreckage.

Oyo State Police Command confirmed the deaths and directed immediate deployment of officers to address potential secondary hazards like fuel explosions or looting at the crash site.
