Legal Proceedings Target Directors Over Court Order Disobedience

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Legal Proceedings Target Directors Over Court Order Disobedience

A legal application has been submitted to assess whether specific individuals violated a court order and should face prison committal for contempt.

The alleged contemnors include Lewis Shui Ngor Tung, Phillip Shui Chei Tung, and M.A., who are directors of the company involved.

Counsel for UBA stated that serving Form 49 on the alleged contemnors is essential to allow them to appear in court and explain why committal should not occur.

The court’s decision to permit substituted service marks a procedural move to ensure the individuals are notified in line with court instructions.

Counsel also claimed that the Directors of WEMPCO and some staff members engaged in unlawful actions to defy the court’s order.
