Segun Agbaje

Segun Agbaje is group chief executive officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company. He took that role in July 2021 when Guaranty Trust Bank reorganised into a holding company. Before the transition, he served as the bank’s managing director and chief executive from June 2011 to July 2021. His responsibilities at the group include banking and the development of businesses in payments, asset management and pension administration.
Agbaje has more than three decades of experience across investment, commercial and international banking. He holds an accounting degree and an MBA from the University of San Francisco and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Beyond his banking career, he served as an independent director of PepsiCo and a member of its audit committee from July 2020 to May 2026. He became an international ambassador of the Swiss Red Cross in 2024.
