Newark Hosts First Homowo Festival, Boosting Ghana-US Investment

The Newark Homowo festival commenced with a traditional Ga ritual, where Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Acting Gbese Mantse Nii Armah Okpah II participated in the sprinkling of Kpoikpoi during the event's opening ceremony.

The ceremony, held in Newark, showcased the Ga people's cultural heritage, offering Ghanaians in the diaspora a chance to reconnect with their roots and introduce their traditions to a global audience.

The four-day festival, organized by the Acting Gbese Mantse, attracted officials from both the United States and Ghana, alongside business leaders and members of the Ghanaian community.

A key event was the Homowo Business Summit, which focused on unlocking investment potential in Accra through enterprise and land development opportunities.
